(Нельзя сказать said me, либо said to me, либо told me. Here переходит в косвенной речи в there).

(Ago переходит в before).

(После глагола tell всегда должно быть указано кому. Вместо someone тут можно поставить me/us/him/het/them и т.д., то есть любое местоимение или существительное. После said писать, кому адресованы слова, необязательно).

(Когда мы передаем вопрос, порядок слов после вопросного слова (здесь: what) становится, как в утвердительном предложении, а еще в косвенной речи мы все сдвигаем на время назад, поэтому is переходит в was).
